Learning on your Time

During my teaching with technology course I have learned so much about the education system in front of a computer. I personally could never have succeeded in grade school if I were enrolled in online courses. I have a hard time managing my time and prioritizing my to-do list. I always try to do everything at once and when you can't do everything at once you don't do anything at all. Also, I tend to get frustrated when my computer gets really slow due to all the windows and programs I have open on my screen. I feel that these are a few minor set backs that would gradually become a big problem for me if I were have been in an online school growing up. Online students require a lot of motivation and drive. The style you learn can be a huge factor on whether or not you will have an easier time in an online course. I'd prefer to talk face-to-face with someone. Online you have to find ways around that obstacle if you are the same way. By viewing a few videos online of other students stories and why they choose online courses I was able to realize how well this option works for others. For students that are home school for different reasons like sports or values or maybe they get picked on and don't like the people in their school,or illnesses that don't allow the student to get to school on a daily basis are just a few examples off the top of my head. I also didn't realize how many schools to choose from when deciding to attend an online school. There is a lot to consider when making this decision and I believe with society gearing toward a highly technological savy generation there will be many advertisements, commercials, and maybe even movies about students in online schools.
